Set into the hillside with an earth roof and natural stone walls, Modern Cabin minimizes impact while offering a quiet, contemporary retreat within Telluride’s historic fabric.
Designed with extreme sensitivity to the hillside, Modern Cabin minimizes visual impact while fully embracing Telluride’s design guidelines. The home tucks into its slope, with an earth roof that allows the main level to sit well back from the street and neighboring properties.
Stone retaining walls and natural grading integrate the structure into the site, while setbacks and measured height keep the massing low and respectful of context. The result is a cabin-inspired modern home—rooted in the land, efficient in its footprint, and crafted as a quiet retreat within the historic fabric of Telluride.
