Nestled along the bay outside Charleston, this modern retreat blends wood, glass, and water into the Lowcountry landscape, where horizon and home move seamlessly as one.
Set along the bay just outside Charleston, this retreat embraces the rhythm of the Lowcountry with an architecture that feels both contemporary and deeply tied to its surroundings. The home is nestled among trees, its crisp geometry softened by warm woods and expansive glazing that invite the landscape to flow through and around the living spaces.
A large pool extends from the house, with trees rising directly from its edge—a gesture that blurs the line between built and natural, garden and water. Throughout, light and shadow shift with the day, animating the interiors and framing views of the horizon. Stone, glass, and timber balance modern clarity with regional charm, grounding the house in the textures of its coastal setting. Both sanctuary and gathering place, the residence reflects the calm of the bay while expressing a refined Southern spirit.
