Set on a steep mountainside at the edge of Telluride, Overlook uses stone, steel, and wood to root the home in place while framing panoramic views of Ajax, Bear Creek, and the town below.
Overlook is perched on a steep site at the edge of Telluride, where the town meets the mountains. The home is designed to embrace its dramatic setting, with sweeping views of Ajax Peak, Bear Creek, the ski resort, and the historic town below. A palette of stone, steel, and wood grounds the architecture in its alpine context, while expansive glazing frames views in every direction.
The design balances the ruggedness of the site with moments of retreat, opening to a generous yard that connects the home to the landscape. From every angle, Overlook captures the essence of mountain living, anchored in natural materials, oriented to the peaks, and seamlessly tied to its setting at the edge of town.
